Columbia Benefit Solutions has been serving the Portland metro area since 1990 and is led by Kathy Gadinas and Jill Pedersen. We specialize in guiding employers and individuals in benefit designs and insurance plans without a sales pitch. Kathy is an active participant in our industry association, National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). She has served on the local state board as the Legislative Chair and is also the past state board President. Kathy recently sat on the Regence Blue Cross and Blue Shield Agent Advisory Committee. Kathy also earned her B.S. in Business from George Fox College in Newberg, Oregon.
Kathy’s area of expertise is employer benefits and she primary works with large employers. Kathy is an advocate for her clients and brings a depth of knowledge to assist them in their efforts to offer competitive benefits at a competitive cost.
Jill is an active participant in our industry association, NAHU, and is currently serving on the local state board as President and the Health Underwriters Political Action Committee (HUPAC) chair in addition to her contributions as the NAHU Professional Development Vice Chair. She is also the Past President of the local Portland Chapter.
Jill served on the Essential Health Benefits Advisory Committee for the State of Oregon. Jill enjoys serving in her community and is currently serving as the Treasurer for CASA of Clackamas County which helps children in the foster care system. She also volunteers annually at the Clackamas County Fair as a taste tester.
Jill is well versed in health care reform and presents on a wide variety of complex issues to employers and individuals. Jill’s areas of expertise are small group, individual, and Medicare plans. Jill understands the constraints of a business or family budget. Her experience and expertise help guide benefit decision making.
Marissa Goode is our Account Service Coordinator. She handles CBS’s internal administrative functions for our employer groups. She came to us from Benefit Help Solutions in 2015. She has a background in health and policy from OSU. She assists with all aspects of group support from enrollment to eligibility. Marissa manages all aspects of the micro group accounts for CBS in addition to other responsibilities.
At home, Marissa has a German Shepherd, Trooper who enjoys the companionship of she and her fiancé, Adam. Marissa and Adam will be getting married in September 2018. Marissa has been a tremendous asset to our team and given extraordinary customer service to our clients.
